Abstract
This Special Issue of Meteorologische Zeitschrift is dedicated to the profiling of wind and temperature primarily by wind profiler radars. Fully accepted as research tools for several years, wind profilers are now starting to be used operationally. The papers in this volume reflect the state of the art in wind profiler development and their use in meteorology.
