Kurzfassung
Aus der Lower Fars-Formation in NE-Irak werden 5 Spezies einer artenarmen Foraminiferen-Fauna beschrieben, darunter Ammonia acuta n. sp., die in besonders großer Stückzahl auftritt. Die Fauna bestätigt das bisher angenommene Mittelmiozän-Alter und deutet auf ein brackisches Ablagerungsmilieu.
Abstract
Five species of an impoverished foraminiferal fauna from the Lower Fars Formation of NE-Iraq are described, one of them as new: Ammonia acuta n. sp., which is very abundant. The fauna confirms the supposed Middle Miocene age and indicates a brackish environment.
