Kurzfassung
Nach Ableitung konstruktiver Prämissen einiger Strukturen der Holothurien wird unter Angabe der physikalischen Limitationen ein Evolutions-Modell der Gesamt-Konstruktion in Einzelschritten begründet. Der Fossilbefund frühester (silurischer/devonischer) Holothurien-Skelette zeigt bereits die Standard-Architektur. Der Nachweis der Loven'schen Konfiguration im Schlundring einer mitteldevonischen Holothurie belegt Vorläufer-Strukturen und deutet mögliche phylogenetische Beziehungen an.
Abstract
Some biomechanical structures of the holothurian soft body are investigated with respect to their constructional preconditions. The evolution of the holothurian construction is explained by a model of functionally feasible steps of development. In complete specimens from the Silurian/Devonian modern skeletal structures are already present. However, the calcareous ring of a MiddIe Devonian holothurian applies to the 'Lovenian law', thus presenting an aspect of constructional preconditions which also may indicate relations to ophiuroids and echinoids.
