Abstract
Four species of thick-walled, free-living tentaculitids occur in the Silurian of Estonia with a stratigraphic range from the Wenlock to Pridoli. Seretites versablilis Larsson, 1979 and Tentaculites gothemensis Larsson, 1979 characterize the Jaagarahu Regional Stage (upper Sheinwoodian). There are also two species in the Pridoli of Estonia: Tentaculites scalaris Schlotheim, 1820 and Lonchidium inaequale Eichwald, 1856. The diversity of Estonian tentaculitids is low for the Silurian due to collecting bias. The four species known from the Silurian of Saaremaa Island (Estonia) were originally described from Baltica.
