Kurzfassung
Im Anschliff einer Erzprobe von Petsamo wurden spärliche, auffallend idiomorphe Kristalle, die wie Magnetite aussahen, beobachtet. Durch Untersuchungen mit Hilfe der Mikrosonde wurde festgestellt, daß die genannten Kristalle aus vier Zonen bestehen: ein Titanomagnetitkern wird von reinem Chromit umgeben, diesem folgt ein titanhaltiger Chromitsaum, die äußere Zone besteht schließlich aus reinem Chromit.
Abstract
Rare, remarkably idiomorphous crystals resembling magnetite were observed in a polished section of an ore sample. With the aid of electron-probe microanalyses, the examination showed that the crystals mentioned consist of four different zones: A nucleus of titaniferous magnetite surrounded by chromite followed then by a layer of chromite containing titanium and finally the outward zone consisting of pure chromite.
