Abstract
An undescribed species of Ampullifera Deighton has been isolated from a soil sample collected from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India, during the course studies on soil fungi. As can be seen from the available literature, the only publication on this genus is that of Deighton who erected the genus in 1960. He described three species — A. foliicola Deighton, A. ugandensis Deighton and A. leonensis Deighton. This is the first record of this genus from India.
