Abstract
Two strains of Harposporium diceraeum were recovered from a small conservation area in Tokyo. Strain 1 produced aerial arthroconidia in addition to characteristic, pod-shaped phialoconidia with minute beaks at both ends. Strain 2 produced V-shaped phialoconidia as well as the typical, pod-shaped ones. The V-shaped phialoconidia (4.5-6.0 x 4.6-6.3 µm) were larger than the typical ones (3.3-3.9 x 2.4-3.7 µm) due mainly to an unusually elongated basal beak.
