Abstract

This paper gives an account of 20 taxa of meliolaceous fungi collected from the Western Ghats of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu states in southern India. Of these Asteridiella ehretiae, Irenopsis chukrasiae, Meliola allophyli-concanici,M. ixorae-coccineae, M. melanoxylonis and M. myristicae are the new species; Asteriella cyrtandrae (Stev.) Hanf. var. didymocarpi, A. schlegeliae (Stev.) Hansf. var. stereospermi, Meliola aethiops Sacc. var. moullavae and M. capensis (K. & C.) Theiss, var. schleicherae are the new varieties; Meliola anacardii Zimm. and M. bauhiniicola Yamam. are reported for the first time from India. The description of Meliola ailanthi Sharma, Mohanan & Florance has been emended. The rest of the species are either new reports to their respective states or form new host records.
