Kurzfassung
Hamburg gehört zum Norddeutschen Tiefland, entsprechend gehören die meisten Geotope in Hamburg zum eiszeitlichen und nacheiszeitlichen Formenschatz. Aufgrund der geringen Größe des Stadtgebietes ist eine Sicherung eines repräsentativen Ausschnittes z. B. der glazigenen Formen Norddeutschlands nicht möglich. Es sind zurzeit 32 Geotope ausgewiesen. Oft handelt es sich um große „Geotopbereiche“, die wiederum verschiedene Geotope i. e. S. enthalten. Einige Objekte sind von überregionaler Bedeutung, wie der Aufschluss organischer Sedimente des Holstein-Komplexes, mit Übergang von terrestrischer zu mariner Fazies in Hamburg-Hummelsbüttel. Leider sind einige Geotope bedroht oder werden sukzessive in ihrer Struktur und ihrer Schutzwürdigkeit herabgesetzt. Zurzeit werden mehrere Bereiche in Bezug auf ihre Eignung als weitere Objekte für das Geotop-Kataster überprüft. Zudem werden die ausgewiesenen Geotope nach Möglichkeit näher geologisch untersucht. Die Öffentlichkeitsarbeit konzentriert sich auf den Tag des Geotops und Führungen bei Naturschutzstiftungen. In Zukunft sind u. a. systematische Zuarbeiten zu den Infotafeln der Naturschutzgebiete geplant. Die laufenden Arbeiten werden im Beitrag erläutert.
Abstract
Hamburg is situated in the North German Lowlands, most of the geotopes in Hamburg are from the Ice Age and post-Ice Age. Due to the small extend of the city, it is not possible to secure a representative section, e. g. of the glacial forms of northern Germany. 32 geotopes have been designated. Often these are larger “geotope areas”, which in turn can encompass different geotopes. Some objects are of supra-regional importance, such as the outcrop of organic sediments of the Holsteinian complex, with the transition from terrestrial to marine facies in Hamburg-Hummelsbüttel. Unfortunately, some geotopes are threatened or are successively reduced in their structure and their worth of protection. At present, some areas are being examined with regard to their suitability as further objects for the geotope cadastre. In addition, the designated geotopes will be examined in more detail if possible. The public relations work focuses on the Day of the Geotope and guided tours of nature conservation foundations. In the future, systematic work on the information boards of the nature reserves is planned, among other things.
