Abstract
During the Llanvirn, the Armorican Massif was a platform characterized by several trilobite associations. However, in the south-eastern part (Ancenis region), a cyclopygid biofacies indicates at the same time a deep marine environment (psychrosphere); the benthic trilobites, blind or nearly blind (atheloptic assemblage) are the same as those known in the eastern Barrandian (Bohemia). These data are considered as arguments which support the hypothesis of a thermal stratification of the Ordovician marine waters, at least during the Llanvirn.
Kurzfassung
Während des Llanvirn war das Armorikanische Massiv eine Plattform, die durch verschiedene Trilobiten-Assoziationen gekennzeichnet war. In ihrem südostlichen Teil (Ancenis-Region) jedoch zeigt eine Cyclopygiden-Biofazies ein Tiefseemilieu an (Psychrosphäre). Die blinden oder fast blinden Trilobiten (atheloptische Gemeinschaft) stimmen mit denen des östlichen Barrandiums von Böhmen überein. Dieses Ergebnis stützt die Annahme, daß eine thermische Schichtung des ordovizischen Meeres, zumindest im Llanvirn, vorhanden war.
