Kurzfassung
Die neue Art ist ein Vertreter der aus dem Mesozoikum kaum dokumentierten lyssakinen Hexactinellida. Aufgrund des reichen Vorkommens der "Hexactinosa" und Lychniscosa in der oberkretazischen Plänerfazies Nordwestdeutschlands darf man annehmen, daß die obere Kreide eine Blütezeit der Hexactinellida war. Die mangelhafte Dokumentation der »Lyssakinosa« kann demnach als ein Artefakt der Überlieferung gedeutet werden.
Abstract
The new species is a representative of the lyssakine Hexactinellida, a group which has been hardly documented from the Mesozoic. The rich occurrence of "Hexactinosa" and Lychniscosa in the "Schreibkreide" Formation suggests that the Hexactinellida have been blossoming in the Late Cretaceous and that the poor documentation of the "Lyssakinosa" is a preservational artefact.
