Abstract
The new species Ceratolejeunea apostolii is described and illustrated herein from a specimen collected from the Jaú National Park in the Brazilian Amazon and is distinguished morphologically from C. rubiginosa by its obliquely spreading leaves, symmetrical lobes, Allorgella-type denticulations along the dorsal and ventral leaf margins, pairs of marginally sharp teeth along underleaves, and absence of utriculi. This species occurs as an epiphyte on understory shrubs in seasonally inundated black water Amazonian forests (igapó).
