Fundamental and Applied Limnology is an English-language, peer-rewieved, international journal of freshwater research in the widest sense, including problems of marine biology and brackish water research. Papers on ecological issues are especially welcome in association with experimental or physiological studies.
Archiv für Hydrobiologie was renamed to Fundamental and Applied Limnology in 2007 and has been published continuously since 1906.

Publication frequency

Fundamental and Applied Limnology (FAL) is published monthly. Four issues form one volume, three volumes of FAL are scheduled to be published annually. Please note that the beginning of a volume may not coincide with the calendar year. Subscriptions are invoiced per volume.

Online Version

Regular subscriptions include access to the online version. FAL also participates in CrossRef which allows direct access to referenced papers which are available online.
